# Depth allocation desk guide

Name a budget, compare market weights and keep your plans on this device

The desk is a local planning tool with no wallet connection or live market data

## Quick start

1) Name your plan using up to 80 characters
2) Enter a USD budget and choose a period of 7, 14 or 28 days
3) Adjust the relative weights for Stable assets, Tokenized assets and Emerging markets
4) Review the calculated share and amount for each category
5) Select Save to create a named record or update the saved plan you are editing

The automatic draft keeps the current editor separate from your deliberate Save action for a named plan

## Calculation

Weights are relative priorities and do not need to add up to 100

```text
share = market weight / total weight
exact cents = budget in cents × share
```

Depth calculates in whole cents, rounds each allocation down and assigns any remaining cents to the largest fractional remainders

Equal remainders use the fixed market order shown below

For a budget of `$100.01` and weights `1, 1, 1`

| Market | Weight | Allocation |
| --- | ---: | ---: |
| Stable assets | 1 | $33.34 |
| Tokenized assets | 1 | $33.34 |
| Emerging markets | 1 | $33.33 |
| Total | 3 | $100.01 |

Displayed percentages can be rounded for readability while allocations preserve every cent

## Local storage

Saved plans and the current draft use browser `localStorage` for this site origin

An origin includes its scheme, hostname and port, so the local preview and shared Site keep separate collections

- The planning tool requires no account
- Plans do not sync between devices, browsers or browser profiles
- Clearing site data can remove saved plans and the draft
- Private browsing, storage restrictions or a full quota can prevent persistence
- Plan files and budget data are not uploaded by the planning tool

The editor saves an automatic draft after a short pause in editing, with a 300 ms debounce while browser storage is available

Use Save for a named plan and JSON export for a backup outside the browser

Anyone with the website address can open the planning tool and Docs without signing in

Each browser keeps its own plans — making the website public does not publish plans stored in your browser

## Manage plans

Keep up to 100 saved plans with names up to 80 characters

- Open loads a plan after confirming replacement of the current draft
- Save creates a named plan or updates the saved record being edited
- Rename a plan by changing its name in the editor and selecting Save
- Duplicate creates a separate record and preserves the original
- Delete removes a plan after confirmation
- Reset weights restores `45, 35, 20` without changing the budget or period

Use Sort plans to order the saved list by Updated recently, Name A–Z or Budget high to low

### Compare saved plans

Save at least two plans, then open Compare plans and choose a Base and a Comparison

The comparison shows each plan’s budget and period, plus the weight, budget share and allocated amount for every market category

Every difference is Comparison − Base

Share differences are percentage points rather than returns or yield

Swap the plans to reverse the comparison without changing saved records or the current editor draft

The period remains metadata and does not affect the allocation calculation

At the 100-plan limit, export any plans you want to keep before removing an unwanted record

## Import JSON

Import accepts JSON files no larger than 256 KiB

Both current version 1 files and earlier Depth JSON exports are accepted

The importer uses recognized plan inputs and discards imported allocation results, recalculating them from the budget and weights

Files are parsed locally as data and never executed as code or uploaded by the planning tool

Minimal version 1 example

```json
{
  "schemaVersion": 1,
  "kind": "illustrative-allocation",
  "currency": "USD",
  "name": "Example plan",
  "budget": 100.01,
  "periodDays": 14,
  "weights": [1, 1, 1]
}
```

Exports may also include computed allocations, notes and an export timestamp

These extra fields are not required for importing and cannot override the calculation

After importing, review the table and Save if you want a named copy in this browser

CSV cannot be imported

## Export and backup

JSON provides a portable backup that can be imported back into Depth

CSV provides a table for spreadsheets and reports, including exact cent amounts for verification

Export downloads a file and does not submit an allocation or make a transaction

Keep JSON backups before clearing site data, changing devices or deleting saved plans

Exports describe an illustrative allocation rather than a live position or yield projection

### Back up all saved plans

Open Saved plans and select Back up all to download the complete saved collection as JSON

The collection includes saved records only

Select Save first if you want to include changes currently in the editor draft

Version 1 collection example

```json
{
  "schemaVersion": 1,
  "kind": "depth-plan-collection",
  "currency": "USD",
  "plans": [
    {
      "name": "Example plan",
      "budget": 100.01,
      "periodDays": 14,
      "weights": [1, 1, 1]
    }
  ],
  "exportedAt": "2026-10-13T00:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### Restore a collection

In Saved plans, select Restore backup and choose a collection JSON file no larger than 1 MiB

After confirmation, Depth adds the restored plans to the existing collection without changing the current editor draft

Records with identical names, budgets, periods and weights are skipped

Records with the same name but different inputs remain separate saved plans

Depth validates the complete collection before writing it once

An invalid record, a storage failure or a result above the 100-plan limit leaves the saved collection unchanged

Use Import JSON for a single-plan export and Restore backup for a collection backup

## Input limits

| Input | Limit |
| --- | --- |
| Budget | USD 1 through USD 100,000,000 with at most two decimal places |
| Weights | Three whole numbers from 0 through 100 with a positive combined total |
| Period | 7, 14 or 28 days |
| Name | Up to 80 characters |
| Saved plans | Up to 100 per browser and site origin |
| Single-plan import | JSON no larger than 256 KiB |
| Collection restore | JSON no larger than 1 MiB, with up to 100 saved records after identical plans are skipped |

A zero weight receives no allocation

The period is metadata only and does not change the calculation, compound a return or predict a yield

Correct invalid input before saving or exporting

## Motion

Use Pause motion on the allocation desk to stop decorative movement

The desk also respects the system reduced motion preference

Calculation, saving, importing and exporting remain available with motion paused or reduced

The Docs page uses ordinary page scrolling and expandable sections without a separate animation engine

## Protocol direction

Depth explores a proposed liquidity coordination protocol for tokenized asset markets on Robinhood Chain

The proposal connects asset projects, liquidity providers and long-term participants through explicit budgets, locking and voting, and evidence of market outcomes

Governance would coordinate shared budgets while dedicated funding would follow its agreed terms

Executable depth, coverage time and budget use are proposed measures for review before the next cycle

The current site is a local planning tool for three illustrative categories

The planning tool does not execute protocol contracts or wallet transactions, and provides no live prices, live pools or yield forecasts

Asset admission, contracts, verification rules, security review and wallet integration remain future work

Depth is a working identity and an independent concept with no claim of an official Robinhood partnership

## Troubleshooting

### An import is rejected

Check that the file is JSON, stays within 256 KiB and contains supported budget, period and weight values

Use a fresh Depth JSON export as a reference and keep the original file during investigation

### A collection backup cannot be restored

Use Restore backup for files with kind `depth-plan-collection`, schema version `1` and currency `USD`

Check the 1 MiB file limit and every plan’s inputs, then make sure the existing and new records will fit within the 100-plan limit

Identical plans do not use additional capacity, but a matching name with different inputs creates another record

A rejected collection is not partly restored — existing saved plans and the editor draft remain unchanged

### The backup does not include my latest edit

Back up all includes saved plans rather than the automatic draft

Save the edited plan and download a new collection backup, or export the current editor as a single-plan JSON file

### There are not enough plans to compare

Save at least two plans and choose them as the Base and Comparison in Compare plans

Save current editor changes first if you want those changes to appear in the comparison

### Saving is unavailable

Browser settings, private browsing and storage quota can prevent saving

Keep the current page open and export the valid plan before changing settings or leaving the page

### Saved data cannot be read

The desk keeps unreadable stored data unchanged and reports the problem

Export any valid current plan and keep existing JSON backups before attempting recovery

Do not clear site data as a first step because it can remove the only remaining copy

### Another tab changed the draft

The desk warns when another tab writes a newer draft for the same browser and site origin

Choose Open newer draft to load that version or Keep this draft to keep working with the current editor

Export the current draft first if you need to preserve both versions

Keeping a draft does not replace its saved plan — if another tab changed the saved plan, Save asks before replacing it, even after a page reload

Older drafts without saved-version information also ask for confirmation before replacing a saved plan

### A plan is missing on another device

Plans do not sync across devices or site origins

Export JSON from the original browser, transfer the file yourself and import it where you want to continue
