A guide to the allocation desk

Name a budget, compare market weights and keep your plans on this device

The desk is a local planning tool with no wallet connection or live market data

Quick start

  1. Name your plan

    Use a name you will recognize later, up to 80 characters

  2. Set the budget and period

    Enter a USD budget and choose 7, 14 or 28 days

  3. Adjust the three market weights

    Stable assets, Tokenized assets and Emerging markets share one budget according to their relative weights

  4. Review the allocation

    The table updates the share and amount for each category as you edit

  5. Save the plan

    Save creates a named record in this browser or updates the saved record you are editing

Changes also create an automatic draft, but a draft does not replace the deliberate Save action for a named plan

Calculation

Weights are relative priorities, not percentages that you must make add up to 100

Each share is its weight divided by the sum of all three weights

share = market weight / total weight
exact cents = budget in cents × share

Depth calculates in whole cents, first rounding each allocation down and then assigning the remaining cents to the largest fractional remainders

This largest remainder method preserves the entire budget without creating or losing cents

A rounding example

A budget of $100.01 with weights 1, 1, 1 produces the following amounts

MarketWeightAllocation
Stable assets1$33.34
Tokenized assets1$33.34
Emerging markets1$33.33
Total$100.01

Equal remainders use the fixed market order shown in the table

Displayed percentages may be rounded for readability, while money is allocated to the cent

Local storage

Saved plans and the current draft use your browser’s localStorage for this site origin

An origin includes the scheme, hostname and port, so a local preview and the shared Site keep separate collections

  • No account is required by the planning tool
  • Plans do not sync between browsers, browser profiles or devices
  • Clearing site data can remove the draft and saved plans
  • Private browsing or browser storage restrictions can prevent persistence

The automatic draft

The editor saves a draft after a short pause in editing, with a 300 ms debounce while browser storage is available

Use Save to keep a named plan and export JSON whenever you need a backup outside this browser

Public access and personal plans

Anyone with the website address can open the planning tool and Docs without signing in

Each browser keeps its own plans — making the website public does not publish the plans stored in your browser

Manage plans

Keep up to 100 saved plans in this browser, with a name of up to 80 characters for each plan

Open
Load a saved plan into the editor after confirming that it will replace the current draft
Save
Save a new named plan or update the saved plan currently being edited
Rename
Open the plan, edit its name in the editor and select Save
Duplicate
Create a separate saved record so the original plan remains available
Delete
Remove a saved plan after confirmation, with an exported backup available if you need to keep it

Use Sort plans to order the saved list by Updated recently, Name A–Z or Budget high to low

Compare saved plans

Once you have at least two saved plans, open Compare plans and choose a Base and a Comparison

The comparison shows each plan’s budget and period, plus the weight, budget share and allocated amount for every market category

Every difference is Comparison − Base, and share differences are percentage points rather than returns or yield

Swap the two plans to reverse the comparison without changing either saved record or the current editor draft

The period remains metadata and does not change the allocation calculation

At the 100-plan limit, export any plans you want to preserve before deleting an unwanted record

Reset weights restores 45, 35, 20 without changing the budget or period

Import a plan

Import accepts a JSON file up to 256 KiB, including the current version 1 format and earlier Depth JSON exports

Only recognized plan inputs are used, including the name, budget, period and weights

Any imported allocation results are discarded and recalculated from the budget and weights

Files are parsed locally as data — their contents are never executed as code or uploaded by the planning tool

A minimal version 1 file

{
  "schemaVersion": 1,
  "kind": "illustrative-allocation",
  "currency": "USD",
  "name": "Example plan",
  "budget": 100.01,
  "periodDays": 14,
  "weights": [1, 1, 1]
}

Version 1 exports can also contain computed allocations, notes and an export timestamp

These extra fields are not required to calculate a plan and cannot override the calculated amounts

CSV is an export format only and cannot be imported

After importing, review the recalculated table and save the plan if you want a named copy in this browser

Export and backup

JSON
Keep a portable backup that can be imported back into Depth, including the plan inputs and a snapshot of the calculated allocations
CSV
Use a readable table in a spreadsheet or report, with exact cent amounts so currency values can be checked without rounding ambiguity

Export downloads a file to your device and does not submit an allocation or make a transaction

Keep JSON backups before clearing browser data, switching devices or removing plans

Both formats describe an illustrative budget allocation, not a live position or a yield projection

Back up all saved plans

Open Saved plans and select Back up all to download the complete saved collection as JSON

The collection contains saved records only, so select Save first if you want to include changes currently in the editor draft

A collection backup uses this version 1 format

{
  "schemaVersion": 1,
  "kind": "depth-plan-collection",
  "currency": "USD",
  "plans": [
    {
      "name": "Example plan",
      "budget": 100.01,
      "periodDays": 14,
      "weights": [1, 1, 1]
    }
  ],
  "exportedAt": "2026-10-13T00:00:00.000Z"
}

Restore a collection

In Saved plans, select Restore backup and choose a collection JSON file no larger than 1 MiB

After confirmation, Depth adds the restored plans to the existing collection and keeps your current editor draft unchanged

Records with an identical name, budget, period and weights are skipped, while records with the same name but different inputs are kept as separate saved plans

Depth validates the complete collection before writing it once, so an invalid record, a storage failure or a result above the 100-plan limit leaves the saved collection unchanged

Use Import JSON for a single-plan export and Restore backup for a collection backup

Input limits

Budget
USD 1 through USD 100,000,000 with at most two decimal places
Weights
Three whole numbers from 0 through 100, with at least one weight above zero
Period
7, 14 or 28 days
Name
A plan name of up to 80 characters
Saved plans
Up to 100 records in this browser and site origin
Single-plan import
No more than 256 KiB of JSON
Collection restore
No more than 1 MiB of JSON, with up to 100 saved records after identical plans are skipped

A zero weight receives no budget, while other categories share the full amount

The selected period is metadata only — it does not change the calculation, compound a return or predict a yield

Invalid input must be corrected before the plan can be saved or exported

Motion controls

Use the allocation desk’s Pause motion control to stop its decorative movement

The desk also respects your system’s reduced motion preference

Calculation, saving, importing and exporting remain available when motion is paused or reduced

This guide uses ordinary page scrolling and expandable sections without a separate animation engine

Protocol direction

Depth explores a proposed liquidity coordination protocol for tokenized asset markets on Robinhood Chain

The proposal connects asset projects, liquidity providers and long-term participants through explicit budgets, locking and voting, and evidence of market outcomes

Governance would coordinate shared incentive budgets, while dedicated funding would follow its agreed terms

Executable depth, coverage time and budget use are proposed measures for reviewing an allocation before the next cycle

What exists today

This site provides a local planning tool for three illustrative market categories

This planning tool does not execute protocol contracts or wallet transactions, and provides no live prices, live pools or yield forecasts

Asset admission, contracts, verification rules, security review and wallet integration remain future work

Depth is a working identity and an independent concept, with no claim of an official Robinhood partnership

Troubleshooting

An import is rejected

Check that the file is JSON rather than CSV, stays within 256 KiB and contains supported budget, period and weight values

Use a fresh Depth JSON export as a reference and keep your original file while investigating the error

A collection backup cannot be restored

Use Restore backup for files with kind depth-plan-collection, schema version 1 and currency USD

Check the 1 MiB file limit and every plan’s inputs, then make sure the existing and new records will fit within the 100-plan limit

Identical plans do not use additional capacity, but a matching name with different inputs creates another record

A rejected collection is not partly restored — your existing saved plans and editor draft remain unchanged

The backup does not include my latest edit

Back up all includes saved plans rather than the automatic draft

Save the edited plan, then download a new collection backup, or export the current editor as a single-plan JSON file

There are not enough plans to compare

Save at least two plans, then choose them as the Base and Comparison in Compare plans

Save any current editor changes first if you want those changes to appear in the comparison

Saving is unavailable

Browser settings, private browsing or a full storage quota may block local storage

Keep the current page open and export your valid plan before changing browser settings or leaving the page

Saved data cannot be read

The desk keeps unreadable stored data unchanged and reports the problem

Export any valid current plan and keep existing JSON backups before attempting recovery

Do not clear site data as a first step, because that can remove the only remaining copy

Another tab changed the draft

The desk warns when another tab writes a newer draft for the same browser and site origin

Choose Open newer draft to load that version or Keep this draft to keep working with the editor you already have open

Export the current draft first if you want to preserve both versions

Keeping a draft does not replace its saved plan — if another tab changed the saved plan, Save asks before replacing it, even after a page reload

Older drafts without saved-version information also ask for confirmation before replacing a saved plan

A plan is missing on another device

Local storage does not sync between devices or site origins

Export JSON from the original browser, transfer the file yourself and import it where you want to continue
